This week I'm very excited to perform with my quartet and special guest Seiichi Nakamura http://saxphonetman.sakura.ne.jp/ (tenor sax). We will be doing two performances of Horace Silver's music. Horace, who continues to live in California today, has been a legend in the jazz world for over 50 years. His bands included many of the greatest players in jazz history performing Silver's compositions that have been jazz standards for decades.

On Tuesday night, we will be playing at one of my favorite jazz clubs in Japan, Kenny's Bar http://www.kennys.jp/ in Ikebukuro. Kenny really understands about the jazz life and atmosphere. Musicians always seem to enjoy playing there. I feel like I can be more creative in that room. For me, it's very important to have a room that I feel comfortable and and has a great "vibe". In July, many musicians can to sit-in with us at Kenny's. It was so nice! At most of my gigs in the U.S.A. , many musicians usually came by to sit-in and/or hang-out.

On Thursday (28) we will be performing in Omotesando at the Kawai Piano Salon. This is a project for Senzoku College of Music and Kawai Piano. We are very excited to have be chosen to play on this concert series. I hope to see all of you there!!!
