sit-ins welcome on the second set

Pianist Tim Lyddon is making his debut in the Tokyo area. From the US, Tim has played at many jazz clubs in NYC including Birdland and Sweet Basil. He has also performed in Losangeles, Phoenix, Houston, Pennsylvania, new Jersey and Las Vegas. 2 Cds have been produced-Ive Traveled So Far and Shades of People. Both have been well received in the Tokyo area.

" He's armed with a slightly irreverent sense of humor that is sprinkled throughout Shades of People. It's safe to say Lyddon never met a
motif he could'nt weave into the fabric of an intro. He does it on all six standards and each is a delight.
JAZZ TIMES

"The Leonard Berstein ballad "Somewhere" is given an exquisite trio treatment with the band members acting in empathic unison. Chalk up another superb trio recording from Tim Lyddon. He makes it a pleasure to listen to jazz music."
ALL ABOUT JAZZ C. Michael Bailey

" Not since Keith Jarrett's powerful rendition on "Tribute" have I experienced such fire in a performance as "All The Things You Are"
WBGO's20Daniel Karcher
"
I've Traveled So Far is the best jazz piano trio recording in recent years. It's different from everything else." -- WBGO's Daniel Karcher.

"Tim's improvisations show the depth of an exceptionally mature musician." -- JAKI BYARD

Tonight!!! We're performing at the Senzoku Music Showcase in Omotesando! My quartet plus special guest Seiichi Nakamura will be doing an all Horace Silver program. If you have some time, come on out. Our last gig in Ikebukuro on Tuesday at Kenny's was packed. It was so great cause a lot of really creative people showed up to catch the music but, there was a lot of great networking and creative conversations happening. It was really nice to see that!

Had a great time tonight at BIZ Nite hosted my Jon Lynch, President of Global Vision Media K.K. They produce JUICE magazine [ http://wwwjuicemusic.com ]. Jon is a great guy with a lot of positive energy.

My favorite presentation was by David Chester [ http://www.davidchester.com/ ] (you can see David in one of the photos below). David is a composer, producer and pianist. However, tonight his topic was "What You Need to Know Before you Make Your First Film". It was so interesting to hear David go through all the steps of his first film production. He basically entered the world of film with very little knowledge and made just about every mistake you could possibly make. It really gave me motivation to try some new projects! It was nice to have time after the presentation to talk with David and ask him a few questions.

I met several other people from advertising agencies, software companies, dancers, photographers, and many others.
The next Biz Nite is on September 8 at Tableaux in Daikanyama.
